F&B Service Internship-Mandarin Speaking (Maldives)

This is a front of house operations internship of 6 months duration in F&B Service. The position may also involve cross exposure as determined by operational demands. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in mainstream operations and sharpen your guest interaction skills.

Languages: Proficient in speaking, reading, writing Mandarin along with English.
The Interns will have the following responsibilities:
 Provide exceptional service to all guests.
 Seek and share guest feedback for continuous service improvement.
 Promote and upsell the resort facilities with a view to generating additional revenue.
 Coordinate events for the guests as required.
 Host familiarization trips or important journalists when requested by the Management
 Translate all collaterals including menus, documents and any material required for promoting the resort and resort facilities in native language (where applicable).
 Show flexibility in work and readiness to learn and adapt swiftly.
 Be able to work effectively with colleagues from cross-cultural backgrounds.
It is common for students to experience the following during their internship:
 Working in staggered shifts as per operational demands
 Working longer hours occasionally (eg. in high season) compensated with time off.
 Assisting in different departments of the resort as per requirements of the business.
 Assisting all guests irrespective of their nationality.

Internship Package applicable :
• Monthly Stipend
• Entitlement to 3 meals a day in the resort’s team cafeteria
• Shared Accommodation on site
• Uniform will be provided
• Laundry will be provided for Uniform/Work clothes
• 48 hours a week working over 6 days
• Visa processing will be undertaken by the resort

Internship package excludes the below mentioned and students must arrange the same on own:
• Air travel expenses between the home country and Republic of Maldives.
• Travel / Health / Life Insurance valid for the entire duration of stay in Maldives.
• Any other expenses arising during the course of the assignment, which are not explicitly covered herein.

Bilingual: English + Mandarin (both proficient in reading, writing, speaking)
(Other languages will be an advantage)

Institute's Certification:
The student's institute must be able to provide a certificate confirming the program that the student is registered for. Also the letter must state that the student requires to undergo an Internship as part of the curriculum to gain professional exposure in hospitality.

IT/Other:
Must possess good knowledge of Opera (Property Management System)
Must be well-versed in all MS office applications
Languages required: English and Mandarin.
