Tencent Cloud – Big Data Migration Engineer (Thailand)

Tencent Cloud is expanding its engineering presence in Southeast Asia and is looking for skilled and customer-oriented Big Data Migration Engineer to join our regional delivery team in Thailand. You will play a key role in supporting customers through complex data migration projects, ensuring the successful transfer of large-scale datasets from legacy systems or other cloud providers to Tencent Cloud’s big data platforms. This role involves close collaboration with internal product teams and external clients to design, execute, and optimise migration strategies tailored to business needs.

Responsibilities:
Assess customer data infrastructure and define end-to-end migration strategies tailored to business needs.
Execute data migration projects involving open-source big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka, HBase) and big data products from mainstream cloud vendors (e.g., Databrick, Bigquery or Athena and redshift), from on-premises or public cloud environments to Tencent Cloud.
Work closely with solution architects, product teams, and clients to ensure smooth data pipeline design, testing, execution, and optimization.
Provide technical support during Proof of Concept (PoC), cutover, and post-migration validation phases.
During the POC/migration process, standard processes and general solutions for different scenarios are summarized, and the best practices for POC migration are summarized;
Monitor and troubleshoot performance or data consistency issues, ensuring minimal disruption during migration.
Document technical solutions and workflows in both English and Thai for internal and client-facing communication.

Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related fields.
3+ years of hands-on experience in big data platforms and data migration projects.
Proficiency with distributed data systems such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka, Flink, HBase, etc.
Proficiency at least one of the big data products from mainstream cloud vendors, such as Databrick, Bigquery or Athena and redshift, etc.
Familiarity with data migration solution of key distributed data systems and big data products from mainstream cloud vendors.
Strong scripting skills (Python, Shell, or similar) to support data automation and validation.
Fluent communication skills in both Thai and English, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
